Eight-year-old Nante Niemi, who disappeared during a family trip to the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park in Michigan on Saturday, has been found alive two miles from his campsite. After his family members searched for him, local police and teams including 150 search and rescue personnel, K9 units, air and water teams were called in.
The boy was discovered sheltering under a log on Monday afternoon and was reunited with his family in good health. Michigan State Police expressed gratitude to the volunteers and support services that had assisted in locating the child. The park covers 60,000 acres, containing forests, waterfalls, rivers, trails and ridges.
