Inglewood honors singer Becky G with key to the city

Inglewood native Becky G, a popular singer, has been honored with a key to the city. She released her first single, "Becky From The Block," ten years ago, where she expressed her love for her hometown. In return, the city of Inglewood presented her with the key as a symbol of their appreciation. Becky G expressed her gratitude for the honor, stating that being able to represent Inglewood wherever she goes is a privilege. Inglewood Councilman Eloy Morales Jr. highlighted Becky G's contributions to the community, such as her support for the Inglewood Unified School District and her efforts to raise awareness about the Latino vote and the impact of COVID-19 on minority communities. Becky G's connection to Inglewood runs deep, and she has always shown her willingness to help the city. Mayor James Butts emphasized that the key to the city signifies the city's pride in her achievements. Only four keys have been given out in Inglewood's history, and Becky G is the first Latina and second woman to receive this honor.
